This policy explains what happens to your information when you use AskSonarFit. We have kept it short because we collect very little.
Last updated 9 November 2026.
The Short Version
- We do not use analytics, advertising networks or tracking pixels.
- We do not set any cookies for visitors.
- We do not have accounts, comments, newsletters or contact forms.
- We only learn your email address if you choose to email us.
Information Our Hosting Provider Logs
Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs. Each entry can include your IP address, the date and time, the page you requested (including any search terms you typed into our search box), the address of the page that sent you here and your browser type. These logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and are used only to keep the site secure and working. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.
Cookies
We do not set cookies when you read the site or use our tools.
The only cookies this website sets are login cookies for the site's administrators, and they are set only after an administrator signs in to the editing area. Visitors never receive them.
Our fonts and scripts are served from our own server, so reading a page does not send your information to font or script providers.
Our Tools and Search
When you use the compatibility checker, the cable finder or the search box, your browser sends the models or words you chose to our server so it can return results. We do not store these choices against you. They may appear in the access logs described above. The battery and wire calculators work entirely in your browser and do not send anything to us.
Affiliate Links
Some links go to retailers through an address starting with /go/. When you click one, we add one to a click count for that link. We do not record who clicked.
The retailer you arrive at, such as Amazon, may set its own cookies to track the visit and credit a purchase to us. That is covered by the retailer's own privacy policy, not this one. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more about these links.
If You Email Us
If you email us at (email address coming soon), we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request, such as checking a correction. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or share your details. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time.
Children
This site is written for adult anglers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we start using analytics, add a newsletter or change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
