Every compatibility answer on this site comes from a documented source and carries a date. This page explains where that information comes from and what our labels mean.
Where Our Information Comes From
In order of preference, we use:
- Manufacturer manuals and installation guides. These are the most reliable source for connectors, supported transducers and wiring.
- Manufacturer accessory and compatibility pages. Most brands publish lists of supported accessories and adapter cables.
- Manufacturer support articles and direct answers from support teams. When a combination is unclear, we ask, and we record the date of the answer.
- Authorised dealer documentation, only where the manufacturer has published nothing.
We do not use forum posts or user reviews as a source for a compatibility answer. They can point us towards a question worth checking, but the answer itself must come from a documented source.
What the Labels Mean
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Works directly | The parts connect and work together without any extra cable or module. |
| Works with adapter | The parts work together once you add the adapter cable or module we name. |
| Partly works | The parts connect, but some features (for example side imaging or temperature) are not supported. The notes explain what is missing. |
| Not compatible | The manufacturer documents that the parts do not work together, or the connectors and sonar formats cannot be matched. |
Dates and Updates
Each record shows the date we last checked it against its source. Manufacturers release new models, change part numbers and update software support every season, so we recheck records regularly and update the date when we do.
If a record is out of date or you have a manufacturer document that says something different, please get in touch. We will check it and correct the record.
Before You Buy
Part numbers matter more than product names. Two transducers with very similar names can use different connectors. Always match the full part number in our records with the one on the product listing, and confirm with the manufacturer if you are unsure.
